Phlebectomy

Involves using very tiny incisions and specialized vein instruments to actually remove the varicose veins from the leg. Can be performed as a simultaneous procedure with saphenous vein ablation separately. It is performed in the office or at the ambulatory surgery center. The incisions are closed with small pieces of tape and compression is worn for 7-10 days after the procedure. Time off from work is usually 1-2 days. The procedure is covered by insurance.
